EcoDrink. Uh, what?

On a trip to the store, I ran across EcoDrink. Ah, I love jumped-on-the-greenwagon packaging. Please note the excellent usage of the recycling symbol in the logo, as well as the color green peppered throughout.   After reading all of the packaging, I still don’t understand why this should be called EcoDrink.

Visual Thinking — Live in Stereo — Every 1st Thursday at XPLANE

On the first of the month (generally) the Portland branch of XPLANE holds Visual Thinking School. During those two hours on a Thursday afternoon, brains and imagination are required to attend, as well as an interest in collaboration and drawing — no matter your level of skill. Despite everyone being on the same “team,” VTS is almost […]

LeBron for Nike

In the latest viral spot for Nike, LeBron James gives his 90-second bit on “should I be who you want me to be?” This spot is more genuine (and humorous) than the spot W+K created for Tiger Woods, in my opinion. What do you think?

The “Noun” Store: A Person’s Place for Things

On my ride back down Belmont from the library earlier today, I saw a store called Noun. Although I didn’t go inside, a nice sense of delight still occurred when I read their tagline, “a person’s place for things.” Well said. Maybe next time I’ll stop in, and grab a Saint Cupcake while I’m at it.

Science Pub Night with OMSI

About twice a month, OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) holds Science Pub at either The Mission Theater or The Bagdad Theater in Portland. This cheap and interesting event brings in science and technology industry leaders to share a variety of topics, while enjoying beer and pizza. One of my favorites so far has been the presentation […]

Nissan LEAF™: Polar Bear

This spot for Nissan’s latest “green” car is just ridiculous.

New spot for Virgin Atlantic Airlines

This spot is bizarre meshing of Nina Simone’s Feelin’ Good and the bowling dream sequence from The Big Lebowski. I’m still on the fence as to if I actually like it, but I do appreciate that Virgin is having such a good time with their public face. What do you think?

ARTCRANK PDX is pedaling it’s way here

This Thursday is ARTCRANK PDX, a poster party for bike people at the Ace Hotel’s Cleaners. More than 30 Portland artists will be representing their love of bicycles, sharing and selling poster prints  ($30 each, which goes to the artist and non-profits including Bike to Rwanda). The inspiration for my poster submission came from my 3+ […]
